Hi, I'm Paige!
I've been in love with vintage clothes since I was a little girl. Then I got a job at a little vintage clothing store near Tampa, and that sealed it for good. Every rack was different. I'd pull out a blouse and wonder who wore it first, where she went in it, and how it ended up hanging there in front of me.
Honestly, my favorite part of that job was the people. Someone would come in "just looking," and twenty minutes later they'd be standing at the mirror in something that fit like it was made for them. Not just looking good, but feeling good. I never got tired of that moment.
Here's the thing nobody tells you about vintage. The sizes don't match what we wear today. A size 14 from the '60s can fit more like a modern 8. As a girl who's over a medium, I spent years finding something I loved, checking the tag, getting my hopes up, and then trying it on only to find it just wasn't the right fit. After enough of that, you start to wonder if this look is even meant for you.
Trust me, it is. You just need a little help finding it in your size.
That's why I started Vintage Over Medium. I want you to fall in love with this style the way I did, without all the guessing and the dressing room disappointment. In Paige's Closet you'll find pieces straight from my own wardrobe, some true vintage and some just secondhand favorites I couldn't pass up. Everywhere else, you'll find new vintage-inspired clothes made in today's sizes, so you get the look without the hunt. I'll also show you how to read old size tags, which measurements really matter, and how to pair pieces so they look like you and not like a costume.
Everything here is something I'd happily wear myself, picked with real bodies in mind.
So take your time and have fun with it. And if you're ever unsure about a size, start with the fit guide. That's exactly why I made it.
Love,
Paige
